According to the factory letter, this rifle left the warehouse on October 25, 1888. It was shipped with a round barrel, half magazine, plain trigger, walnut stocks, in caliber .45-60 WCF. IT has survived in lovely condition. The barrel measures 28" (standard). It retains 95% of the original factory blue mixed with plum. The receiver still retains approximately 80-85% original factory blue mixed with plum as well. Lovely traces of case colors on hammer and lever. Walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal, never refinished, with no cracks or chips and most of the original varnish intact. Action as new. Strong clean rifled bore. Really lovely far above average Model 1876 Winchester rifle.
