Offered is a scarce and desirable Winchester Model 1894 special order eastern carbine in the desirable .38-55 Winchester centerfire caliber. This carbine was manufactured in 1918 wile America was in the throws of the first World War, which made it difficult to order any civilian, let alone factory special order. Features include a 20" round barrel, button magazine, hard rubber Winchester shotgun buttplate, and fluted comb. The barrel retains 90% of its original factory blue finish, thinning on edges. The receiver has flaked to a smooth brown-grey clean patina. The walnut stocks are in excellent condition, proud to metal, with no cracks or chips. Strong clean bore. Perfect action. Made for an extremely rare and desirable .38-55 Winchester carbine. Of course it has the folding ladder carbine rear sight and high post front, and never had a saddle ring installed.
