Offered is an extremely scarce late production (1928) lever action takedown rifle in the early .38-55 Winchester cartridge. This cartridge is rarely found in production rifles from this era. It has the proper late model barrel stamps and is standard in all respects, including 26" round barrel, full magazine, takedown, and rifle buttplate. The barrel and tube retain approximately 95% of the original factory blue finish. The receiver shows the typical period flaking and remains at approximately 20%. The bolt retains all of the factory blue. Loading port retains approximately 75% blue. Original stocks are excellent, proud to metal, never refinished, with no cracks or major chips. Action is perfect. Bore is mirror bright.
