Offered is a near mint classic pre-war Savage Model 99 Deluxe Takedown rifle. Standard features include a 22" barrel, deluxe checkered highly figured walnut stocks, and Savage logo serrated metal buttplate. This is a takedown model and chambered for the .303 Savage cartridge. This early example, manufactured in 1928, has the high polish factory blue finish on the receiver of which virtually all still remains. the barrel retains all of its original factory blue. The lever retains most of the original colors and varnish. The stock is superb with sharp as new checkering and all of the original finish with just a couple of usual bumps. Mint bore and action. Truly a superb example in top collector grade condition of this deluxe classic lever action.
