Offered is a martially inspected Remington New Model Army .44 percussion revolver. Features an 8" octagon barrel, blued finish, single action, six-shot non-fluted cylinder, case colored hammer, brass trigger guard, fire blue trigger, and walnut grips. This revolver has remained in spectacular condition. The barrel retains fully 95% of the original high polish factory blue. Frame retains approximately 20% of the high polish blue, balance patina. Cylinder has flaked to smooth patina. Walnut grips are near mint with perfect cartouche on left panel. Brass has not been cleaned with traces of color on hammer and fire blue still on trigger. All metal parts are stamped with the inspector marks. Hammer does not stay back (easy fix). Bore is near mint. These revolvers were popular in the Civil War, manufactured from 1863 to 1875.
