This is a beautiful factory nickel plated double action .44-40 with 6" barrel, nickel finish, and pearl grips. The frame retains 98% original factory nickel, barrel and cylinder retain 90% original factory nickel with usual high edge wear and some minor freckling. The trigger guard retains approximately 75% original factory blue. Hammer and trigger retain generous amounts of case colors. The pearl grips fit like a glove, are in near mint condition, and are contemporary to the gun. Locks up as new. Near mint bore with some frosting. This fine gun comes in the original brown hinged cardboard box with the tan end label that reads "Smith & Wesson Double .44 Action Nickel. 6 Inch.". The inside of the box lid has the directions for use. There is a 1" puncture in the lid which has been taped from the inside, otherwise the box is in excellent condition, complete with all of the aprons (one split corner in lid). Comes with factory letter.
