Standard rifle was manufactured in 1885. It is chambered for the popular .38-40 cartridge. Standard features include a 24" full octagon barrel, full magazine, walnut stocks, blued finish, and sling swivels added. The barrel and tube retain approximately 70% original blue finish with some freckling. Frame retains full 80% of the brilliant high polish blue finish with some minor freckling. Strong case colors on hammer and lever. The wood is excellent, proud to metal, with most of the original varnish and a 1" flat spot at comb. Strong but frosted bore. Perfect action. Extremely nice 1873 with lots of original finish. Far above average.
