This deluxe Marlin lever action 1881 rifle is chambered for the .32-40 cartridge. Features a 22-1/2" octagon barrel (cut), half magazine, deluxe checkered pistol grip stock, rifle butt and blued finish. The barrel retains 70% original factory blue, starting to dull, as does tube. Frame retains approximately 80% of the high luster blue finish, thinning on the edges and bottom. Very good checkered walnut stocks with some dents, and an extra coat of varnish has been added. No cracks or chips. Traces of color on hammer. Muzzle is brown patina, which would indicate that the cut was made contemporary to gun. Strong bore with some minor corrosion. Fine action.
