This rifle was manufactured in 1886. Standard features include 24" round barrel, full magazine, blued finish, lever action, rifle butt, walnut stocks and chambered in the popular .44-40 caliber. All factory markings are strong. Rifle is all original, never touched, fine screws and perfect factory stamps. Wood stock excellent with no cracks or chips, proud to the metal, most of the original finish, and one little 1/4" plug on the wrist. Barrel and tube are basically a mix of brown-blue patina. Fairly clean with some light freckling. The frame has traces of brilliant blue in recesses but is basically a smooth mix of blue-brown patina. Gun has sporting sights. Strong clean bore. A way above average 1873 in the most popular caliber.
