The offered knife is stamped with the model No. 5. Serial No. 19259 and is stamped on underside of quillion. The ricasso of the blade has the acid etched "Shakespeare Knife Wilkinson, London". Features include a 9" spear point double edged blade with cannelure, finely checkered wooden grips, case colored quillion, with matching design hard leather sheath, and fire blue spring safety. Overall length is 13-3/4" and is in near mint condition having seen very little use. The Wilkinson-Shakespear knife is rightly considered a classic. Examples so far noted show differing details in the manufacture, in fact no two seem to be completely identical, such is the nature of Wilkinson knives. This knife dates to the early 1800's and would be impossible to improve on as to condition, rarity, and quality.
