This Colt was manufactured in 1944. The right side of the frame has the British "BP" crown proof. Right side of the slide is blank (proper). Standard features includes a 5" barrel, parkerized finish, brown plastic grips, and chambered for the .45 ACP. Gun retains virtually all of the reparkerized finish. Bore is mint. Barrel is blue and is British stamped. Comes with one unmarked original magazine. A fine example of a British lend lease .45. CORRECTION: This pistol was dissembled and examined by noted Colt 1911 expert Eric Gustafson. Who offers the following updated notes. The recoil spring guide and the barrel link as well as the spring are replacements. It has a WWII contract magazine as well as a replaced short trigger. All these parts are readily available and could be easily replaced to bring the gun back to it's 100% original condition as shipped.
