This rifle was manufactured in 1885 and is chambered for the popular and scarce .45-75 cartridge. It is standard in all respects with a 28" full octagon barrel, full magazine, blued finish and walnut stocks. Metal is basically a nice blue-brown-grey patina. Caliber is marked on top of barrel, not on carrier. Walnut stocks are very good with a nice dark finish and no visible cracks. Does have some hunting abrasions especially on bottom of stock. Has the standard folding 1876 rear sight. Has a strong bore with some abrasions. Perfect working order. Still has much of the original blue on loading gate. Wear on fore end at frame where it looks like it rode in a saddle scabbard. Colorful old West big bore buffalo rifle cleaner than most with obvious Western usage. A rifle with story.
