Factory letter states that this rifle was shipped on August 20th, 1898. It was shipped with a 26" full octagon barrel, half magazine, shotgun rubber buttplate, with Lyman front and rear sights, and chambered for the .30-30 cartridge. The gun remains in brilliant all original condition. The barrel, frame, and even the nose cap retains approximately 90-95% of the original factory blue. Lever and hammer retain almost all of the brilliant case colors. Original varnished walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal, with no cracks or chips of any kind. Winchester logo hard rubber buttplate is excellent. Has a Lyman tang rear sight, two leaf folding barrel rear sight, and a Lyman folding globe front sight. Bore and action are mint. Still has fire blue on the extractor. Extremely high condition special order 1894 Winchester in the antique serial number range. Factory letter confirms all of the above.
