According to Roger Rules book, only 1,226 rifles were manufactured in the .458 magnum cartridge. The most powerful rifle manufactured in this model. An even smaller percentage of those guns were offered in the Super Grade. This rifle was manufactured in 1957 and is a standard Super Grade in all respects. Standard features include a 26" heavy round barrel, ramp front sight (no hood), adjustable leaf rear sight, jeweled bolt, rust blue finish barrel, matte finish frame, blued foreplate stamped "Super Grade", deluxe checkered walnut stock, black fore end tip, Winchester red recoil pad, and factory installed sling eyes. The gun has been fired but remains in immaculate condition. Retains virtually all of the original blue finish, even on trigger guard. Bore and action are mint. Woods is sans any chips or cracks. Checkering is sharp. The only flaw worthy of mentioning is a little finish loss on the stock and a hint of wear on the jeweled bolt. Highly sought after big game Model 70 in the rare Super Grade configuration. Beautiful rifle in all respects rarely seen on today's market. A gem.
