This is a standard Single Action Army pre-war revolver manufactured in 1922. It is chambered for the .38 Winchester centerfire cartridge (.38-40). Standard features include 7-1/2" barrel, blued finish, case colored frame and hammer, and Colt hard rubber grips. The gun has remained in beautiful untouched all original condition. The left side of the barrel retains approximately 50% original factory blue, while the top right side and bottom retain approximately 80% original factory blue. The ejector rod housing has all the blue on top flute and has silvered out on side. Trigger guard has wear at the trigger, as well as on the front and rear grip strap with the majority being a nice blue turning patina. The original hard rubber grips are in excellent condition, fit like a glove, with no cracks or chips. Frame retains 25% original case colors, some still brilliant. Frame screws retain virtually all of the factory blue and do not appear to have been touched. The cylinder is basically a pleasing smooth patina with most of the blue in the flutes. Hammer retains traces of color. Exhibits all four clicks. Indexes properly and locks up tight. Bore is near mint. A very fine all original pre-war Colt single action in a popular caliber.
