William is known primarily for his landscapes which he painted in various locations throughout the eastern United States including. His paintings are in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum, Brooklyn Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and many other prominent museums. William Hart's paintings have achieved over $100,000 at auction.
