May 23rd 2015 Premier Firearms Sale
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/22/2015
Manufactured in Amhurst, Massachusetts (first production) 1867 to 1868. Standard features include a 26" barrel, chambered for the 16 ga. shot shell, has the variabled choke threaded at muzzle, smooth bore, four shot carrier, no rear sight, exposed hammer, walnut stock, and smooth steel shotgun buttplate. Barrel is basically a smooth blue-brown patina, as is the frame. Wood is excellent with no visible cracks or chips, just the usual hunting dents. Bore is good but could use a cleaning. These shotguns are extremely rare, and the first year Amhursts in the 16 ga. are exceptionally rare. One of the more unusual designs and one of the finer examples you will come across.
