This has got to be one of the finest condition Model 53 lever action rifles chambered for the scarce .44 caliber in existence. Wood and metal retains virtually all of their original finish. Searching for wear, about the only noticable blue loss is a mere sliver of gun metal at the end of the muzzle still showing. Near mint bore and perfect action. Even the nose cap has all the original blue, as does the buttplate. The wood has a couple minor storage impressions. One of the finest Model 53 .44 caliber rifles in existance. This rifle was manufactured in 1926. Standard features include a 22" round nickel steel barrel, Lyman ivory bead front sight, and standard rear. Rifles were made from 1924 to 1932 with 3,290 made in this caliber.
