This pistol was manufactured in 1976. It is a standard Series 70 1911 Govt Model Gold Cup National Match chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. It has all standard Gold Cup National Match features including the Elliason fully adjustable rear sight, serrated wide top rib, adjustable trigger, serrated front grip strap, flat serrated rear mainspring housing. Barrel is stamped with the Series 70 "M.M." marking. Rear sight is blue. Balance of gun is Colt factory nickel. Colt Factory letter says that this gun was shipped to Bell's Sporting Goods in Chicago in a royal blue finish. This came from the original person who purchased this gun at Bell's in this nickel finish. It is fully in the opinion of this writer that this gun is factory nickel with the high polish and matte finish combination, only perfected at the factory. The lines are as sharp as razors. Gun shows little to no use of any kind and still has the original warning tag. Walnut grips with Colt silver medallion. Gun is in as new condition retaining all the original factory nickel plated finish. Colt factory letter included. This is the first factory nickel Series 70 Gold Cup that we have ever seen. Extremely rare.
