This is a flintlock musket that features a 42-5/8" barrel. All metal is finished in the white. The breach of the barrel has the British crown proofs and is stamped "109". Tang is stamped "1815". Lock is stamped with "Tower" the British crown and "GR". Middle barrel band is stamped with "40", the British crown, and "GB". Ramrod is stamped "3743". Front barrel band is stamped "23". Rear barrel band has a "P" with a crown. Trigger guard has a crown "GB" stamp in two places. The left side plate is stamped with a "GB" and a crown. Left side of stock there is an upside down "72" and back of the stock is stamped "109". Left side of the stock is scooped out for a cheek. Buttplate is stamped "109 B 56". The hammer has the oval cut out. Back of hammer has the notch. No engraving on face of plate. Metal is a clean soft patina with no pitting. Wood is excellent with no cracks. Fairly clean bore with some light corrosion. Has two sling swivels and original cleaning rod. Very clean early Tower musket.
