The factory catalog refers to this as the ".300 Savage combination rifle and shotgun in case". It is your standard Savage takedown model 99 chambered for the .300 Savage cartridge. Factory cased with purple velvet lining and Savage logo on lid. Comes with .300 Savage 24" barrel and fore end with sights, along with an additional 410 full choke smooth bore shotgun barrel. The rifle is in beautiful shape. Frame retains virtually 99% of its original dull blue finish with some minor high edge wear. The lever exhibits 75% of its brilliant case colors. The varnished and checkered walnut stock is in near mint condition with some minor finish loss. Bores are excellent and clean. Action is perfect. Fore end has a couple bumps and some minor finish loss as well. Both barrels retains 95% or better of the original factory blue. Has a Savage logo steel shotgun buttplate and a grip cap. Case is in excellent condition and in perfect order. Wonderful and scarce Savage cased double barrel set.
