This special order rifle was manufactured in 1898. Standard features include a 24" full octagon barrel, full magazine, rifle buttstock, and chambered for the .32-20 cartridge. Entire gun was factory nickel plated with a gold wash lever, hammer, loading gate, and nose cap. The barrel, tube, frame, and buttplate are full nickel and retain approximately 80% of this finish with the usual minor freckling and bubbling. Approximately 20-30% of the gold plating remains on the other parts. Wood is very good. Buttstock has been refinished at one time and is shy to the metal at toe of buttplate. Action is fine. Bore has strong rifling but frosted. Very unusual to find any full nickel example of a Marlin lever action rifle in the antique serial range. Handsome special order lever action Marlin.
