One of the more desirable and elusive calibers offered in the Model 1886 Winchester model was that of the .50-110 Express. This particular example has got to be one of the last manufactured examples in that it was shipped from the warehouse on December 19th, 1921, using up old parts or custom ordered as they technically dropped this caliber from line in 1919. No other information appears on the Winchester research letter. Rifle features a 26" full octagon barrel, full magazine, blued finish, walnut stocks, and has the desirable Slidin' Lyman 21 rear sight. Rifle remains in excellent condition. Barrel has the period correct stamp on left flat with "PW" on top barrel flat and stamped "50-EX" on left side. Barrel and tube retains approximately 85-90% original blue with high edge wear and minor freckling. Rear sight slot has a filler. Left side of the frame retains approximately 80% blue, while the right side has approximately 70%. Bottom of frame and the balance are a soft brown patina. Original walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal, with some dark areas from oil. Equipped with the rare close double set triggers. Strong clean near mint bore and perfect action. Extremely fine condition big .50.
