.38-40 caliber with a 24" barrel. This rifle was manufactured in 1891 and has remained in beautiful all original condition. Features the 24" full round barrel, full magazine, blued finish, walnut stocks, original Winchester front and rear sporting sights. Barrel and tube retain approximately 90% original factory blue, thinning just a bit at muzzle and breach. The left side of frame retains approximately 90% beautiful high polish factory blue. Top of frame and dust cover have about 85%. Right side of frame retains approximately 50% of the high polish blue with the majority of wear on the right side plate which retains approximately 10% blue. The bottom of the frame retains virtually all of the original blue with the only wear forward of the brass lifter. Strong case colors on lever and hammer. Walnut stocks are near mint, original and proud to metal with just a couple of minor abrasions. Mint bore. Perfect action. This fine old Winchester has seen very little use and was well taken care of.
