Rifle was shipped on November 8th, 1882. Standard features include a 28" full octagon barrel, full magazine, walnut stocks, rifle butt, and chambered for the .45-60 cartridge. Gun remains in incredible all original condition. Barrel and tube retains approximately 95% of the original blue finish with some minor light freckling. Nose cap retains approximately 85% of the original high polish fire blue finish. Frame and dust cover retains approximately 90% of the original high polish factory mirror blue. Lever and hammer retain generous portions of the brilliant case colors. Buttplate still retains traces of the case colors. Screws are perfect. Loading gate retains most of the original fire blue. Brass lifter has never been cleaned. Sights include a German nickel front, and 1876 dated folding rear, and an original Winchester long range tang rear. Walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal, with no cracks or chips, just a couple of minor bumps. Action is as new. Bore is strong and shiny. Even rarer than the gun is the original leather carrying case which can be seen in the book of "Winchester 1 of 100's" (page 106). It is in excellent condition with some usual checking. It has the original handles, tab, and carrying strap. A very high grade set with a very rare leather case.
