Standard fifth model saddle ring carbine popular during the Civil War. Manufactured 1863 to 1865. Standard features include a 22" round barrel, single shot, .54 caliber percussion breech loader, walnut stocks, and sling swivel in butt. Gun has matching serial numbers. Barrel has turned a dark blue-brown patina with freckling. Case colors have darkened. Has fire blue on lever. Two strong cartouches on left side of stock. Original nipple. Stocks are very good with no cracks or chips but several war dents. Fine action and strong clean bore with light frosting. Fine example of a war veteran.
