This rifle was manufactured in 1892. Chambered for the .40-65 WCF cartridge. Standard features include 26" full octagon barrel, full magazine, and walnut stocks. The barrel and tube are a mix of blue-brown-grey patina. Strong factory stamps. Has replaced sights. The frame has nickeled out. Rear buttstock is chipped at tang on both sides. Has a replaced front tang screw. The stock curve has been altered to a carbine style (shaved at toe) with an aluminum plate. Strong clean bore and perfect action. The name Leland Shute has been inscribed in nail holes on fore end. Perfect bore and action. Would make a fine shooter.
