Offered is an extremely high condition very early original Springfield Model 1903 military bolt action rifle that was manufactured in 1910. Standard features include 24" barrel, chambered for the .30-govt-06 cartridge, blued finish, and walnut stocks. The barrel is stamped "SA 7-10" with the Ordanance bomb. This rifle has all the early highly finished blued milled parts. All correct for era to include: a high hump type two hand guard, early dish-knob rear sight, wide finger groove stock, type four checkered buttplate, and early type one magazine cutoff. Gun has a perfect "W.E.S." cartouche on left side. Receiver retains 95% of the original finish. Polished straight bolt. Wood is near mint. It has the original "SA" stock firing proof mark. Rear barrel band retains a majority of its high polish blue finish. Most of the fire blue on band retaining spring. Bore has strong rifling. Perfect action. ME reading 1. The floorplate and trigger guard still retain the majority of the original high polish blue finish. This gun is overall phenomenal condition. It would be a prize in any 03 collection.
