This Third Model standard Dragoon was custom converted and finished by a master craftsman. The project started off with a started 7-1/2" Third Model Dragoon, it was then converted to fire the standard .45 long Colt cartridge. A conversion ring and loading gate were hand machined and case colored to match the frame and hammer. The barrel was machined to accept an ejector rod and an adjustable blade front sight was installed. The gun was then beautifully polished and a fire blue finish was applied. The only marking on the entire gun, aside from the cylinder scene, are two proofs on the left side of frame and serial number under barrel which matches the frame. the action was hand-tuned. It features the varnished wood grips and brass grip frame. Even the cylinder rod was case colored. It is a masterful conversion and finished in the highest quality and is one of the finest conversions of the Dragoon one could ever hope for. The cost and man hours of the machining and finishing alone could only be produced in a labor of love. Gun remains in near mint condition, having been test fired for reliability and accuracy, of which, we are assured, is nothing short of phenomenal and the action is as smooth as silk.
