May 23rd 2015 Premier Firearms Sale
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/22/2015
This rifle was manufactured in 1883. It is standard in all respects. Features a 28" full octagon barrel, full magazine, blued finish, walnut stocks, and is chambered for the .45-60 cartridge. Barrel stamps are strong. Stock is very good, proud to metal, never refinished, with no cracks or chips, just the usual dings and a bit of darkening. The forearm has a 2" crack on right side that would be easily repairable. Entire gun exhibits a soft pleasing blue-brown patina with flashes of brilliant blue about the receiver. Action is fine. Bore has decent visible rifling but not shiny. Far above average 76 not messed with.
