Early rifle manufactured in 1869. Caliber is .44 rimfire, has the desirable Henry patent stamped on barrel. Standard features include a 24" full octagon barrel; full magazine; and brass frame, nose cap, and rifle buttplate. The barrel and tube are basically brown patina with freckling. Barrel stamps are strong. Has the flip-up rear sporting sight. Brass is beautiful mellowed patina with no signs of cleaning. The fore end is very good with small 1" chip at frame. Stock is very good, shy to metal at bottom tang, but still fits fairly nice. Factory sling swivels. Rifling visible but with usual corrosion. Fine action and a very nice, far above, average example of the early Henry patent stamped Yellow Boy rifle. This also is one of the few Winchester models in that the rifles are scarcer than the carbines.
