Measuring only 2 1/8" in length is this unknown bait from the Creek Chub Bait Co. of Garrett, IN. Early red side finished bait has gold painted eyes, slots along the sides, back, and tail having remnants of early fin tail shiner material, slotted head to accommodate a diving lip with the original hole above the nose to secure the lip, a spinnered nose line tie, and a mounted single hook behind a lead belly weight. It is possible that this bait started it's life as a fly rod Fintail Shiner and morphed into its current form later in life, either by Creek Chub or a fisherman. Either way, a truly interesting bait that, at this time, appears to be one of a kind.
