This Model 1873 trapdoor rifle is chambered for the .45-70 govt cartridge. It has been altered to a carbine configuration, has a 22" shortened barrel, stock has been shortened and has a crudely attached front sight. All metal surfaces are covered in a fine layer of salt and pepper rust. It has the early long wrist ESA marked stock that is very readable. Buttplate is corroded. Action is fine. Strong visible rifling. Some heavy rust on trigger guard. Proof "P" on wrist. Should be a decent shooter. Great restoration project.
