This is the Iwo Jima commemorative special edition of 1945 rifles of which this is number 1081. For all intents and purposes purposes, this is a standard Springfield Armory Garand rifle chambered for the 30 govt. 06 cartridge. Features a 24" barrel, satin finish walnut stock, parkerized, adjustable sights. The op rod is stamped Iwo Jima February 23, 1945. Both sides of buttstock have special edition carving. The rifle comes in a special wood crate. The gun is near new. Shows no signs of ever being fired. Still has grease in the rail with some storage wear at muzzle from the crate. There is no paper work.
