Offered is one of the more desirable Winchesters manufactured shortly after the war, this example made in 1952. The Model 52 Sporter was one of the finest quality .22 caliber sporting rifles ever manufactured. Due to the high price and myriad of less expensive competition at the time, these guns were sold in limited numbers to only the wealthiest or most devoted riflemen of the era. This example remains in near mint all original condition as manufactured. Features include a 24" barrel, blued finish, deluxe checkered dark walnut stock, rollover cheek piece, black forend tip, black metal pistol grip, checkered steel buttplate, is equipped with super grade quick detachable sling swivels and a Lyman adjustable target rear peep sight. There is no slot cut in rear of barrel and the front sight is a ramp with gold bead and hood. The metal retains virtually all of the original finish, albeit there is a bit of wear to the base of the original Winchester magazine. Wood is near mint, retaining sharp checkering and all of the original finish, with exception to a couple of extremely minor impressions. Even the trigger guard retains all of the original factory blue. The bore and action are as new. It would be virtually impossible to improve upon the condition of this fine rifle.
