Civil War Model 1850 staff officer sword with presentation on throat "In Memory E.S. Smith to Major George W. Roberts 1st Regiment Douglas Brigade". Sharkskin grip. Blade with E Pluribus Unum and U.S. is slightly dark. Metal scabbard has light staining and is missing screws on the mounts. Major then Colonel acting as brigade brigadier general was killed in action at Stone's River in 1862.
