Civil War Major's double breasted frock coat identified to Major Roberts 42nd Illinois September 30th, 1861. Nicely identified on inside of collar. Polished quilted lining and velvet collar. Missing three buttons. With reinforced eyelets for tie-on shoulder strap. Major Roberts was killed in action at Stone's River while leading the Third Brigade.
