This is a beautiful Colt Model 1911 Colt pistol manufactured in 1917 chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge and features a 5" barrel, blued finish, diamond checkered walnut grips, low profile U-notch, wind drift rear sight. Features all correct small parts to include checkered slide stock, safety and short wide spur hammer. Has the flat smooth mainspring housing with lanyard. Pistol has two toned tempered unmarked Colt magazine. The barrel is blued with polished chamber and has no stamps of any kind. Strong clean bore and perfect action. Slide retains fully 97-98% of the original high polish factory blued finish with a bit of minor high edge wear. Frame retains approximately 85% of the original high polished blue with the majority of the wear on the front grip strap and flat main spring house while the sides of the frame retain approximately 95% blue. It has the long smooth face trigger. High condition example manufactured for the civilian market just as America was entering the war.
