This is a standard sporting rifle chambered for the 38-40 cartridge. It features a 24" octagon barrel, full magazine, blued finish, varnished walnut stocks, crescent steel blutt plate and cased colored hammer and lever. This rifle remains in strong original condition. The barrel and tube retains approximately 95% original finish with some minor age freckling. The frame retains approximately 95% original high polished finish with some toning on bottom. It has strong elements of case colors on hammer and lever. Wood is excellent, proud to metal with no cracks or chips but a couple of minor dings. Action is perfect. Strong bore with some minor roughness. This rifle was replaced by the Model 1894 and is one of the nicer examples we have seen.
