These were converted between 1849 and 1851. It is a .69 caliber smooth bore, barrels shortened to 34-1/2", three barrel bands and walnut stock. All metal surfaces have been cleaned. Sideplate stamped "Harpers Ferry 1841". Metal is basically in the white with severe pitting at breach. Hammer is loose. Conversion is crude. Stock is rough with numerous dings and dents. Poor bore. Appears to be period altered.
