This was the first regulation percussion ignition weapon made at the National Armory. It is also the last smooth bore weapon made in .69 caliber. Features a 42" barrel, three barrel bands, iron furniture and walnut stock. The sideplate is dated 1849 with U.S. eagle. Barrel is basically smooth brown patina except for the last 3" at breech show heavy pitting. There is a 1" piece of wood missing at right tang. U.S. marked buttplate. Original sling swivels, ramrod and nipple. Wood has fine cartouche on left side.
