This revolver was manufactured in 1915 for the British market to coincide with their entrance into the Great War. It is a standard old Model double action, six shot, 5-1/2" barrel, high polish blued finish, Colt gutta percha grips. As is usual with these British models, you will find British proofs on the frame, cylinder and barrel. This example is interesting in that it was originally chambered and stamped ".455 Eley" which has been X'ed out leaving the ".45" and "Colt" stamped beneath, meaning it is chambered for the .45 Colt cartridge. The back of the cylinder has not been trimmed and has the British proofs. The gun retains approximately 75% of the original Colt high polish blue finish. Grips are excellent. Action is perfect. Strong clean bore.
