The frame was manufactured in 1887. It was built into a custom rifle by famed California gunsmith A.H. Pachmayr of Los Angeles and is so stamped on barrel. Pachmayr was famous in the 1920's for his custom rifles. We cannot find the caliber markings, but the bore measures out at .30 and would need a chamber cast to accurately determine. Features include 28-3/4" full heavy octagon barrel. Barrel has three exposed tap holes for tube scope and now sports a Stevens No. 438 Model scope with adjustable Stevens mounts. The spirit level front sight base is present, sight is missing. There is no slot cut for rear sight. Has an original tang sight installed. Features deluxe straight grip checkered stocks with large hook Swiss buttplate, double set adjustable triggers, custom palm rest and a custom trigger guard. Rifle remains in excellent condition. Barrel retains 95% of the original blue. Frame has 20-30% of the original brilliant case colors. Stock exhibits lovely grain with a high gloss oil finish and fine checkering with no cracks or chips. Set triggers work perfectly. Bore is excellent. Extremely nice condition high quality custom target rifle.
