This rifle was the mainstay of the U.S. Army during the first World War and the rifle used by Sargeant York. It is standard in all respects and has never been arsenal overhauled, albeit it does have some replacement parts. It is chambered for the .30-06 cartridge. The barrel has the Remington "R" with Ordnance bomb and is dated 2-18. Has a 26" barrel, factory blued finish and walnut stock. Bottom of stock at wrist is stamped "11" with no other cartouche visible. Gun retains approximately 75% of the original factory blue. Bolt has numerous numbers stamped but does not match receiver. Has an Eddystone stamped bolt release. Fine bore and action.
