Factory letter states that this shotgun was shipped singley to H&D Folsom Arms Co in New York on February 24th, 1883. It is a 12 gauge with 30" barrels, blued finish, checkered walnut stock, 7 pounds 12 ounces, Grade Two configuration. It remains in lovely untouched all original condition. It has matching numbers on the frame, barrels and forend. Has a full plain rib with twist steel construction, two bead sight (middle bead is missing). Mirror bores. Perfect lock up with no wiggle. Sports double triggers. Has a 14-1/4" LOP to front trigger. Smooth steel buttplate. Checkered pistol grip walnut stock is excellent with no cracks or chips of any kind. All metal surfaces a smooth clean soft patina with no pitting. Barrel flats are stamped "MD" on both. Forend wood has ebony tip with a 1" closed crack. Has the exposed hammers with perfect firing pins. Comes in a fine leather vintage takedown case with brass corners. Fine old cased Colt.
