Serial number is 18103, caliber is .12 bore/7x57mm, barrel lengths are 23-3/4". Offered is a fine Pre-War Krieghoff patent drilling that is housed in a Galton & Sons Cambridge, London dealer marked take down leather and brass carry case. Compartments are lined in red felt. This is a scalloped box lock three barrel drilling. The barrels are chambered for the 12 bore and both feature full chokes. The rifle barrel is chambered for the 7x57 cartridge. The barrels feature a full matted rib with small German nickel blade front sight, pop up rear sights and integral claw mounts. The bottom of barrel is loaded with imperial proof marks and is Nitro proofed for smokeless powder. The barrels retain approximately 85% of the original soft blue with light muzzle wear, some high edge wear and thinning a bit near the breech. The stock and forearm are checkered walnut with excellent wood to metal fit, checkering is quite sharp, retaining a majority of the original oil finish with fine grain, a horn buttplate and rollover cheek piece. There are no cracks but there is a repaired chip at toe which, while nicely done, could easily be improved upon. The frame is in a gun metal satin nickel finish and features nearly full coverage fine scroll engraving. Fine engraving is also found on the trigger guard and bottom release which retains 70% of the original fire blue. Has engraved left side lock and a top tang safety. The fore-end is very good with some normal bruises and the checkering is thinning, especially on left side. It is cased with a Hensoldt scope and post en line. Scope has excellent optics and retains approximately 85% of the original black enamel and has the built in rail with claw mounts. The case has two snap caps and a cleaning rod. Strong rifling and near bright shot gun bores. A fine Pre-War cased Drilling that would warrant an expert restoration of the stocks.
