42" barrel .69 bore-flintlock. British manufactured flintlock, full stock musket manufactured for the export trade. The maker stamp on lock is not readable but there is no crown. Three proofs to include British crown over “V” in oval, “N.W.” with a star, and crown. Has a brass buttplate, trigger guard, thimbles, and thumb plate. The striped stock has the typical British Brown Bess comb. Metal is a blue-brown smooth patina. Beautiful condition British flintlock widely used in the colonies prior to and after the American Revolution.
