Beautiful all original U.S. Evans from 1826. A majority of these were Naval contract guns. This one features a 8-3/4", .54 bore, features the swivel rod and original belt hook. Barrel is stamped L.S. and U.S. with proof P. Lock is stamped U.S. with W.L. Evans and is dated 1830. Top stock is stamped C I (inspector) with proof P. Walnut stock is in excellent to near mint condition with original finish. No cracks or chips but there is a small extra drill hole to left of trigger. The barrel is in the white with some light aged freckling, strong legend, balance of metal is a smooth pleasing brown patina, in its original flintlock configuration. Small brass front sight. Extremely fine overall and one of the nicer ones that we have seen.
