Caliber is .69 bore, barrel length 36". This rifle began life as a standard model 1816 musket that was manufactured at the Harpers Ferry arsenal. It was converted at some time from the original flintlock configuration to utilize the percussion system and was shortened. It now retains two barrel bands, the front band sports the sight. The lock is stamped Harpers Ferry 1833 with U.S. Eagle. Left side of stock has the inspector marks. Metal is a chocolate brown patina. The stock is excellent with no cracks but just a few minor dents. Has a very good bore. Fairly typical conversion and rifle shortened to a more usable length. There is some pitting at breech of barrel around nipple from use.
