.38-40 caliber with a 20" barrel. Manufactured in 1909. Offered is an all original late Winchester 1873 carbine in the fairly scarce .38 caliber. Standard features include a 20" round barrel, full magazine, carbine ladder rear sight, post front sight, walnut stocks, carbine buttplate and saddle ring stud (ring missing). The wood is very good and proud to metal. Forearm has a closed 2" crack on left side and a few small dents at bottom near frame. Butt stock has the usual minor abrasion and has a 2" repair at right wrist. Metal finish is basically a smooth mix of blue-brown patina. Fine working order. Strong rifled bore. Far above average 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine in a desirable caliber.
